Happy Birthday Loden Thomas Lizaso

So we were sitting around the labor room, waiting until the doctor comes to check her again. Last we heard, it would be about 8-9pm before we can start thinking about pushing. Around 6:30pm, our awesome nurse Lorie came in and checked on Christina one more time. I say that because she started her shift at 7am and stayed around until after a shift change to make sure baby Lizaso arrived. Back to the story, so yes, she checked Christina and out of the blue she said, "You're ready!" Mind you, we were all taking naps and weren't expecting anything until later, if at all. We all got up immediately and got in to positions.

At about 6:45, we started pushing. "This is it, I thought." Our lives would be forever changed. After a few rounds of pushing, the Doctor came in to check. At about 7:15pm, the 28th of January 2008, Loden Thomas Lizaso said hello. It was such a rush! All in one fell swoop, he arrived and gave a loud cry! I looked at his face right away and knew he was mine. Good or bad, he looks like me! He weighed in at 8 lbs and 2 ounces. He also measured 21 inches long. Incredible, how in the heck did my wife do this?

At any rate, as we rest here in the comfort of the hospital suite, we wait for the nursery to give him back and give us the detail of the test results. Naturally, both sets of parents and extended family are very happy. They can't wait to come in to town and pay little Loden a visit.
