Look Who's Eating

Sorry for the low quality pics as my real camera is out of juice and had to use the iPhone (yes, shameless iPhone plug).

I had to do a post about his first solid-ish meal that he totally behaved for. Several weeks ago when we received the go-ahead from the doctor to go ahead and introduce solid food, Loden wasn't quite ready yet. He didn't want to eat via the spoon and wasn't sure about the taste. We really needed him to take in the rice-cereal/mix combo to keep him full enough to sleep through the night so we put some in his bottle and made him drink it. While it wasn't getting him used to eating via a spoon, at least his stomach was getting used to solid food. Keep in mind this was not a smooth process. Boy was it ever messy. So messy that we fed him naked. Okay, let me rephrase. We weren't naked, but he was. At least just the diaper on. That way, it's easy just to bathe him afterwards and not ruin his clothes. By the way, did this blog just hit the NC-17 mark?

At any rate, we bought a high-chair to get ready for the new way of feeding so that it doesn't hurt our backs. Also, this way it doesn't take the both of us to feed him. I put it together just this weekend thinking he wasn't going to use it for at least another week. Tonight, however, is a landmark event for the household. Not only did Loden sit on the high chair behaving while we had our dinner, he took his solid food by spoon and zero fuss! That's right, you heard it here, no fuss. Woohoo! Such a big deal that I decided to take pictures while Christina did all the work. What can I say?? I'm a proud dad of a super-advanced baby boy.

Here's a picture of Christina and Loden at Luna de Noche this past Sunday afternoon. This used to be our hang out with friends to go drink and eat. Now, it's a family joint. :-) By the way, you can't tell but Loden is wearing a Riviera Maya, MX t-shirt underneath the bib. We got that at the Barcelo back when he was still a "Roy." Some of you may appreciate that.
