So this Monday, 02 March 2009, marks the first day of school for Loden in the 1-year old/toddler area. Granted, it's the same space as with the infants, just with a divider, but it's still a pretty big change in that it's a whole new teacher, all new kids and all new process. Loden loved his infant teacher so much. Those bad days when he would cry when we left him there, he went straight to his teacher. I hope he has the same relationship with his new one. They chose him to move up since he's the most mobile and therefore the most bored. He needs big boy toys to amuse himself with. Unfortunately, Loden just never picked up eating grown up people food fast enough. He's doing step 3 food just fine, but at his age (a little over a year), he really should be eating the same food we adults are eating. In fact, one of the criteria for moving up to the toddler area is that the kids have to be able to feed themselves. Not with a spoon and fork mind you, but be able to pick up food from a tray and feed themselves by hand. We've been trying SO hard to find something, anything, that Loden can pick up and eat himself. Whatever we do find just ends up being wasted because he has no interest for them. Basically, we have the next month to try to catch him up with the rest of his class. For now, the only foods he will pick up and put in his mouth are potato chips and some dried food crisps. Even then, he mostly plays with it or tries to feed it to the dogs. Do send us some tips if you have any for picky babies. Otherwise, send us good thoughts or prayers. :-)

I have no tips as both my kids were shoveling food in as fast as I could put it on their tray. Julia's pickier now, but that's just being two.
BUT, I do have to say that your boy looks SO GROWNUP in those pictures!!!!!!! When did he get big?!?
